Based on an introductory astronomy class developed by educator Nick Strobel, This free online astronomy textbook contains among other things a brief overview of astronomy's place in science, the philosophy of science and the scientific method, astronomy that can be done without a telescope, a history of astronomy and science, and how Newton's law of gravity applies to orbits.
